WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - More than 65 motorists were ticketed in Yonkers and Greenburgh on Tuesday as New York State Police troopers conducted a special speed enforcement detail on the Sprain Brook Parkway.
In total, state police ticketed 34 motorists for speeding, while another 32 were cited for other vehicle and traffic violations. In total, 66 uniform traffic tickets were doled out to motorists in Westchester.
The detail comes fresh off of several Sprain Brook Parkway details over the summer, that saw more than 100 tickets issued for violations that included speeding, cell phone use and safety restraints. There were also multiple speeding details held on I-684 in the Hudson Valley.
According to police, these details will continue throughout the year as troopers make an effort to curtail dangerous driving and keep highways safe for motorists.
