Northern Westchester Man Hid Drugs In Emergency Brake Compartment, Putnam Sheriff Says

A man from Northern Westchester has been sentenced after police say he hid drugs in the emergency brake compartment of his vehicle in Putnam County.

According to Putnam District Attorney Robert Trendy, Antoine Boyd, 29, of Peekskill was sentenced to two years in state prison and two years of parole for cocaine possession on Tuesday, June 4.

Police say Boyd was arrested on April 20, 2018 after a traffic stop in Putnam Valley. Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Deputies searched Boyd’s vehicle and discovered more than an eighth of an ounce of cocaine hidden in a compartment within the vehicle’s emergency brake.

Police say Boyd had previously pled guilty to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony, on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
