A 28-year-old motorcyclist died after hitting the back of a vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway.

Raudys F. Motagarcia of the Bronx, crashed around 7:38 p.m., on Saturday, May 4, while traveling southbound on the Parkway near Exit 6 in the village of Briarcliff Manor when he hit the back of a car, said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the car, an 18-year old male, was moving from the center lane to exit the parkway when his vehicle was struck on the rear passenger side by the motorcycle, Hicks said.

Motagarcia was thrown from the motorcycle and died from his injuries, he said.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. No charges have been filed.
