Helicopter Near Reservoirs Called Routine By Mount Pleasant Police

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. - A low-flying helicopter in Mount Pleasant gave some a scare on Tuesday before law enforcement officials were able to give them the “all clear,” assuring residents it was a safe situation.

At approximately 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning, police were alerted to a helicopter hovering in the vicinity of Westlake Drive, which turned out to be a New York City Department of Environmental Protection helicopter was making its routine rounds of the Kensico Reservoir, police confirmed.

According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the DEP helicopter was flying over the area around Westlake Drive and Stonegate Drive.
