Shortly after 12:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, while on patrol on Lexington Avenue, an officer from the Yorktown Police Department initiated a traffic stop of Mohegan Lake resident Rosemond Herelle after she allegedly crossed the double yellow line, failed to signal a turn and was driving on the shoulder before he could initiate a traffic stop.
During the subsequent stop, the officer reported that investigation into Herelle determined that she had been operating her motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent while committing the violations.
Herelle was arrested at the scene and charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent, both misdemeanors. She was also cited for multiple traffic infractions. Following arraignment, Herelle was released on $100 bail to a sober third party. She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on April 5 to answer the charges.
