Investigation revealed the suspect entered the business just before 10 p.m. that Friday evening and subsequently produced what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from the register.
Approximately $200 in cash was given to the suspect, who then fled the scene on foot and ran northbound on Central Park Avenue.
Yonkers Police Detectives immediately began an investigation into this robbery and obtained video surveillance from the business.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5-foot-10 to 6-feet in height and approximately 20-25 years old. The suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the words “Old Navy” written on the front.
Yonkers detectives reached out to other jurisdictions in the area and his description fits that of three other similar robberies which occurred in the Bronx which are currently being investigated by the NYPD.
Additional robberies have recently occurred here in Westchester (including the Town of Greenburgh and the Village of Ardsley) also may be connected to this suspect. Yonkers Detectives are continuing to work with these agencies to identify this suspect and take him into custody.
Members of the public are asked to call the Yonkers Police Department Detective Division at 914-377-7724 if they have any possible information on this suspect, all calls will remain confidential.
