MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – Mount Pleasant continued to clean up Saturday from the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.

Utility crews worked at the intersection of Bradhurst and Atlantic avenues on Friday afternoon into Saturday morning to restore power to the surrounding neighborhood.

Crews from Con Edison arrived in parts of Hawthorne on Friday afternoon and worked into Saturday morning to restore power to homes that had been without it for days.

Drivers continued to sit in their cars, waiting in long lines for gas at local stations as the fuel shortage continued to affect the area.
