Following the Nor’easter on Friday, which saw 70 mph wind gusts that brought trees and power lines down, causing havoc in the Hudson Valley, there are still 2,130 outages in Westchester, affecting 9,027 Con Edison customers, according to the Outage Map.
An additional 1,524 NYSEG customers remain without power of their 32,806 customers, leaving 10,551 still without power in Westchester on Wednesday morning.
Nearly 1,000 out-of-state contractors have arrived since the storm to assist Con Edison crews in recovery efforts, with more on the way, as more than a foot of snow is expected to hit the Hudson Valley.
Con Edison CEO John McAvoy stated that “1,700 of our people and mutual aid workers (are) in the field, planning and executing the work to get your lights back on and power flowing. We have crews who have come to help us from as far away as Wisconsin, Texas and Canada, who are joining us in working around the clock.”
Customers can report downed power lines, outages and check service restoration status at www.conEd.com or by calling 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633).
