More than 250 volunteers pitched in to clean up the Saw Mill River at eight sites from Irvington to downtown Yonkers. A total of 7,000 pounds of debris was collected from the river and its banks.

GDC contributed $10,000 to the event and will help fund Groundwork’s stewardship of the Saw Mill River throughout the year.

GDC is nearing completion on The Lofts at Saw Mill River, a development of 66 loft-style rental apartments in three buildings on Saw Mill River Road (Route 9A). As part of the project, GDC has dedicated 1.8 acres of “Great Lawn” to the village and will provide access via a pedestrian bridge to the South County Trailway, which runs by the property.
