State Police were dispatched to investigate a serious injury accident which occurred northbound near mile post marker 11.3 in Greenburgh at approximately 4:40 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to Westchester Medical Center with serious life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead, state police said.
The driver's name is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.
The accident is being reconstructed by the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) and is still under investigation.
