According to Aaron Posnik, an auctioneer based in West Springfield, Massachusetts, the public auction will take place on Wednesday, May 8, at the market located at 179 N. Main St in Port Chester.
The market closed in June of 2018 after allegations of sexual harassment by Batali hit the news.
The allegations came to light in a more than 3,000-word article published at the Eater website which revealed that four women accused the chef of inappropriate touching in a pattern of behavior that spans at least two decades.
Batali and his team also owned a handful of local restaurants including the Tarry Lodge in Westport and Port Chester.
He gave up the rights to all of his restaurants worldwide in March after coming to an agreement with his partners.
The auction will feature restaurant equipment such as refrigerators, freezers and many more items of interest to restaurants, delis, bakeries, etc.
Any interested bidders can get more details and photos of the auction inventory as well as terms and directions and more on Posnik’s website at www.posnik.com or email: info@posnik.com.
