Boces Center for Career Services To Host Car Show, Open House

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. -- The Southern Westchester BOCES Center for Career Services in Valhalla is set to host the third annual Car Show and Open House on Sunday, May 18. 

In addition to the cars on display, the event will have food, demonstrations and music. Held in conjunction with the Rock ‘n’ Rods Classic Car Club from Yonkers, the car cruise will feature around 60 to 70 autos, including hot rods, classic cars, vintage cars, muscle cars and more during the event to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.at the Center for Career Services, 65 Grasslands Road in Valhalla, according to a press release. Admission and parking are free.

"The event showcases CCS, which is renowned for career training that includes the Technology Cluster with its Automotive Technician and Collision Technician career paths," representatives said in the release. "Students who are currently enrolled in the programs will be offering demonstrations of the skills they have mastered, including the Cosmetology students who will be doing nails and the Culinary students who are preparing the food."

SWBOCES representatives said the open house will provide an opportunity for students to get to know the school and its facilities. 

"High school students who are considering adding a vocational component to their education will be assured that they are making the right decision when they see the campus and the facilities that SWBOCES offers," representatives said in the release. "The auto shops and classrooms offer the latest in equipment, and all of the Career and Technical Education courses prepare students to be both college and career ready."
