A quick-moving storm system will sweep through the area, bringing accumulating snowfall to overnight Sunday, Feb. 17 into Presidents Day morning on Monday, Feb. 18.

Saturday, Feb. 16 will be sunny, with a high near 40 and the wind-chill factor between 25 and 35.

Skies will remain clear overnight with a low around 22 degrees.

It will be another sunny day on Sunday, Feb. 17 with a high in the mid 30s, but wind-chill values between 15 and 25.

Light snow arrives after 1 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18 with an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible by daybreak.

Light snow is possible until 11 a.m. on Monday.

There is the potential for up to 3 inches of accumulation in areas farther north before the system moves out by noontime on a day in which the high temperature will be in the upper 30s under cloudy skies.

A second storm system could affect the area on Wednesday, Feb. 20 and Thursday, Feb. 21 after a mostly sunny day on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

There's now a 50-50 chance for snow Wednesday and Wednesday night and a chance of rain, freezing rain and sleet on Thursday.

It's too early to project possible snowfall amounts for the midweek storm as its track and strength remain uncertain. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.
