Three schools in a Westchester school district are going remote after new positive COVID-19 cases caused a staffing shortage. New Rochelle interim Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero said that on Thursday, Nov. 19, the high school, Daniel Webster Magnet School, and Columbus Elementary School will be switching to all-virtual learning. The following are schedule adjustments by schools and school districts due to the outbreak of the novel strain of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Westchester County Bedford Central School District: Closed on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 to "thoroughly sanitize" all district facilities after it was recommended a staff member at Fox Lane Middle School self-quarantine pending testing for the COVID-19. 19: More Westchester Schools Schedule Two-Week Long Closures
More schools in Westchester will be shutting down for at least two weeks in an effort to help curb the spread of coronavirus. In New Rochelle - where the outbreak originated - New Rochelle High School, Albert Leonard Middle School and William B. Ward Elementary School, all of which are in the state’s new one-mile “containment area,” will be closed through Wednesday, March 25.
