Mother Shot On Porch Of Home In Hudson Valley Near Young Child
Detectives are investigating after a mother was shot on the front porch of her Hudson Valley home in what's called a safe area. The incident took place in Ulster County around 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 in the hamlet of Port Ewen. According to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a home on North Court for a report of gunshots and a woman screaming. When deputies arrived on the scene they found a 34-year-old woman on a porch with a gunshot wound to her hip, the department said. The body of a 9-year-old girl has been recovered after she was reported missing while swimming in the Hudson River. The incident took place in Ulster County. The girl had been reported missing around 5:45 p.m., Monday, June 7 at Sojourner Truth Ulster Landing Park in the town of Ulster. Man Jumps To His Death From Area Bridge On New Year's Day, Police Say
A 29-year-old man died after jumping to his death from an area bridge on New Year's Day, said authorities. The apparent suicide by the resident of Dutchess County took place on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, said Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Capt. John Watterson.
