Tow Truck Driver Collapses While Removing Crashed Car From Woods In Westchester A tow truck driver collapsed and had to be revived by first responders while working to remove a crashed vehicle from the woods in Westchester, firefighters said. The incident began around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, when the Chappaqua Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on Quaker Road, where a car had veered off the road and landed on its side.   Firefighters removed the windshield to help the driver safely get out of the vehicle. Trooper Suffers Serious Injuries After Being Struck By Pickup Truck On NY Thruway Police are investigating a midday crash on a stretch of the New York Thruway that left a trooper severely injured. It happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 on I-87 in Albany County just before the Exit 6-7 off-ramp in Colonie. The investigation has determined that the trooper had stopped a vehicle, and due to a vehicle and traffic Law violation, the vehicle was being towed, New York State Police said. One Killed In Crash Between Car, Tow Truck In Westchester One person was killed and another injured during a crash between a tow truck and a car in Northern Westchester. It happened around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 on Saw Mill River Road (Route 100) near the Taconic State Parkway in Millwood. According to the New Castle Police, when officers arrived on the scene they found one person dead and another with minor injuries. The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Tractor-Trailer Crashes Into Route 9A Overpass A tractor-trailer backed up traffic for just over an hour after hitting a bridge overpass on Route 9A in Briarcliff Manor on Friday afternoon, according to police. The vehicle got stuck under the overpass around 2:30 p.m. and was stuck for about an hour before a tow truck could come and move it, Briarcliff Police said. The overpass was inspected and deemed safe, they added. Traffic was back up and running by 3:30 p.m.
