Fire Threatens Animals At Nature Preserve In Westchester A late-day blaze at a nature reservation in Northern Westchester posed a threat to several animals housed in the building before it was put out.  The fire happened during the evening of Wednesday, June 7 at the Teatown Lake Reservation in Ossining, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  An original report of smoke in the building led to crews responding to a building on the reservation. Once there, firefighters discovered a fire that had started in the attic and were able to extinguish it and overhaul the area after a little more than an hour.  Luckily, none of …

"Bill" Kuebler, age 67, of Katonah and formerly of Chappaqua, died Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Northern Westchester Hospital surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Queens, to the late Harold Kuebler and Dorothea (Vermilyea) Kuebler. He spent his formative years and early married life in Chappaqua, graduating from Horace Greeley High School and Pace University. Bill was a career photojournalist, most recently working, until his retirement, at Gannett Co. for The Journal News. Teatown Reservation Gets 245 Acres In Ossining After Property Transfer Brooklyn Botanic Garden transferred ownership of 245 acres in Ossining to Teatown Lake Reservation, the  nonprofit nature reserve in northern Westchester County on Friday, May 18.
