Fire Closes Popular Westchester Restaurant
A popular Northern Westchester restaurant known for its wings, burgers and ribs and for being a great place for families to have a dinner out is closed due to a kitchen fire. The fire took place in Northern Westchester County on Saturday, April 8 at the New York Firehouse Grille at 63 Welcher Ave., in Peekskill. Although no one was injured, the entire kitchen was destroyed. The owners said on Facebook the restaurant will be closed while they deal with insurance and rebuild the kitchen. Police will be increasing social distancing enforcement after a cluster of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases linked to the graduation ceremony in Northern Westchester County at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua. New Castle Police Chief James D. Carroll made the announcement early Monday evening, June 29. Man Apprehended After Stabbing Victim Several Times In Westchester
A 25-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly stabbing another man several times with a knife, severely injuring the victim. The incident took place in Northern Westchester County around 7:57 p.m., on Monday, June 15, in Yorktown, said the Yorktown Police Department. Max E. Shulman-Hunter, of Yorktown, was arrested after officers responded to a home to investigate a report a person with a severe laceration, police said.
