Student Sexually Assaulted At Gunpoint At Her Yale University Residence, Police Say A Yale University student was sexually assaulted after waking up to find an unknown man pointing a gun at her. The incident took place around 2 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, on the 300 block of Elm Street in New Haven. Yale Police Chief Anthony Campbell said a graduate student was asleep in her residence when she awoke to an unknown male pointing a gun at her.  The man sexually assaulted her and fled the residence, the chief said. Gunfire Hits CT State Senator's New Haven Home Bullets struck the Connecticut home of State Sen. Gary Winfield, during a shooting in which a man was wounded. The shooting took place in New Haven around 7 p.m., Monday, April 4.
