Police Dish Out 42 Tickets In Westchester Speed Detail
Nearly four dozen tickets were dished out by New York State Police troopers in the area during a special speed detail on Route 9 in Northern Westchester. On Sunday, Sept. 17, troopers handed out 42 tickets along the Route 9 corridor during the targeted enforcement period in Cortlandt. Thirty-six of the 42 tickets were issued for speed-related infractions. 3.4M GM SUVs, Pickup Trucks Recalled Due To Brake Problem
Facing pressure from the federal government, General Motors is recalling more than 3.4 million pickup trucks and SUVs nationwide that may have potential brake problems. The recall includes Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup models from 2014 through 2018, as well as Cadillac Escalade models from 2015 to 2017, and the GMC Yukon, Chevy Suburban and Tahoe models from 2015 through 2018. Toyota Recalls 14K Vehicles Due To Faulty Backup Cameras
Toyota is recalling more than 14,000 RAV4 models due to potentially faulty rearview cameras. The company announced that it is recalling 14,215 of its 2019 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid SUVs because their rearview cameras may not activate when the car is put in Reverse, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The vehicles subject to recall were produced between May 27 and July 27 this year. Honda is recalling 1.6 million vehicles nationwide due to potentially deadly Takata airbag inflators, completing its required recall of nearly 13 million vehicles. The recall will affect Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States. Fiat Chrysler is recalling nearly 343,000 Ram pickup trucks nationwide due to concerns that the airbags may not deploy in the case of a crash. New York State Police troopers dished out nearly double the number of tickets during a special Halloween enforcement detail. Troopers issued 16,690 tickets statewide during the enforcement campaign, up from 9,057 tickets last year.
