Police Investigating Smash-Grab Incident At Westchester Jewelry Store Police in Westchester County are searching for a group of smash-and-grab thieves who allegedly targeted a jewelry store. The incident took in Yonkers on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at a jewelry store on Central Avenue. According to Yonkers Police, the group may be connected to a similar incident in a jurisdiction north of Yonkers.  A Westchester County Police unit spotted two suspect vehicles in the area of Central Park Avenue and Mile Square Road and attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled, with one crashing on Staunton St., Yonkers Police said. 15 Area Residents Charged With DWI In State Police Stops New York State Police troopers busted more than a dozen Hudson Valley motorists for allegedly driving while drunk on area roadways. Among those charged include:  Westchester County On Saturday, Sept., 28, State Police from Brewster arrested Jason M. Curnen, 26, of Bedford, for Aggravated DWI. He was traveling on I-684 in the town of Southeast, when he was stopped for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Busy Westchester Roadway To See Weekslong Lane Closures There will be a weekslong lane closure on Central Park Avenue in Westchester. The Yonkers Police Department issued an alert noting that the left lane of Central Park Avenue between Mile Square Road and the Cross County Parkway will be closed beginning this week as contracting crews continue utility service repair operations. The project is estimated to last for 24 hours a day, up to six or eight weeks. During the scope of the project, motorists can expect longterm delays and should seek alternate routes, police said.

Central Avenue Lane Closures Announced In Westchester There will be lane closures for the rest of the day on a busy Yonkers roadway as crews make emergency utility repairs. The Yonkers Police Department issued an alert on Monday, cautioning that there will be northbound lane closures on Central Park Avenue from Mile Square Road to the Cross County Parkway. Police said that the left lane will be closed until approximately 11 p.m. for Utility Service emergency repair.
