Cuomo Declares State Of Emergency In Westchester With New York combating the first big snowstorm of 2021, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has declared a state of emergency in the Hudson Valley. On Monday, Feb. 1, Cuomo declared a state of emergency in Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Westchester, and three other New York counties as several more inches of snow are expected to fall over the course of the late morning and afternoon. Cuomo also cautioned that the Long Island Expressway, I-84, and other major roadways could face travel bans if snowfall rates reach a rate of two to three inches per hour. Metro-North Employees' Overtime Pay Under Scrutiny Overtime pay at the MTA has gone off the rails, with the agency paying its workers more than $400 million in overtime last year, including $344,000 to one Long Island Railroad employee and 25 Metro-North employees that doubled their salaries in overtime. Despite a year fraught with delayed, canceled and stalled trains, as well as the seventh fare hike in less than a decade, a new study released by Empire Center found that MTA’s overtime rose by nearly 16 percent last year. Man, 39, Electrocuted While Removing Tree Leaves Behind Wife, Two Children A 39-year-old man who was electrocuted while removing a tree after hitting a live power line earlier this week leaves behind a wife and two children. John B. Nuzzolo, of Newburgh, died Monday around 9:17 a.m.while removing the tree at 29 Maple Road, in Cornwall-on-Hudson. He was an employee of the MTA, and the Long Island Railroad, and was a former member of Local 38. Nuzzolo is survived by his wife Syndi and his two children Aryanna and John. He was predeceased by his parents John and Bernice. Visitation will be held at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, on Friday, Sept, 7, from 2 p.m. …
