Motorists in need of a coffee or a pit stop can now enjoy that and a lot more at a new service area on I -87 in the Hudson Valley. The new service area in Ulster County, located in the town of Plattekill, (is now open to the public. The location is the sixth new service area to open on the New York State Thruway as part of the $450 million project to redevelop and modernize all 27 thruway service areas, said the New York State Thruway Authority. Westchester Municipality To Get $10M Grant For Downtown Upgrade
A dozen projects are planned in a Northern Westchester municipality that was awarded a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) award. Peekskill was one of the communities in New York to receive a grant that is earmarked to “enrich the community with key catalytic projects,” according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office. Cuomo, Trump Lunch Meeting Focuses On Gateway Tunnel
President Trump met Gov. Andrew Cuomo at the White House to discuss the Gateway Project, which would rebuild passenger rail lines between New York City and Newark, N.J. The two men were joined at lunch on Wednesday, Nov. 28 by Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, a White House spokesman.
