A firefighter was injured during a blaze at a Northern Westchester home that began in the residence's garage. The incident began on Thursday, May 16 just after 6 p.m., when Croton-on-Hudson firefighters raced to a home on Memory Lane for a reported blaze. A basement fire at a popular Westchester eatery resulted in three people being injured, including a firefighter who was hospitalized. The incident happened on Wednesday, Nov. 8 just after 10 a.m., when the Larchmont Fire Department responded to an active basement fire at Bagels by Sofia located at 145 Chatsworth Ave. According to the department, arriving crews found plenty of smoke pouring from the eatery and upon entering, discovered heavy flames in the basement. Four-Alarm Fire Rages At Strip Mall In Westchester
A four-alarm fire has responders from across the region working to knock down flames at a strip mall in Westchester. The fire started around 6:45 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 12, in Yonkers on the 600-block of Yonkers Avenue in a commercial building, and has caused multiple collapses inside, according to a post on Facebook by the Yonkers Uniformed Fire Officers Association. 12 Families Displaced In Two-Alarm Westchester Blaze That Causes Metro-North Delays
Ten firefighters were injured and a dozen families displaced when a fire broke out that left two houses in Westchester destroyed and caused Metro-North delays. Crews were dispatched to 781 Warburton Ave. in Yonkers at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, when flames broke out in the first building affected, Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Flynn said.
