Almost everyone loves dogs, but can you guess what the state of New York's favorite breed is? If you need a hint, look no further: a new study by PetLab has officially determined that New York's favored breed is the Golden Retriever. To determine this, PetLab's pet nutrition experts used Google's Keyword Planner to look at more than 200 breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club alongside search terms such as "buy" and "adopt." This allowed them to produce a ranking for each US state's most searched-for breed over the last 12 months. New York is certainly not alon…

Ex-Westchester Family Rehabs 'Broken' Dogs, Now They're Inseparable
"Broken" was the word Danbury resident Theresa Devins, formerly of Katonah, says rescue officials used over-and-over again to describe the German Shepherd she was hoping to adopt last November. Not vicious. Not hostile. Just broken. The dog was estimated to be around 3 years old and was kept in a pen with no human interaction except for when someone came to drop food for her for the entirety of her life. Officials at Southern Paws in Passaic County were certain that Delilah would be a difficult turnaround and warned Devins right up until the late-November day she came to pick her…
