The Albany-area high school student died Monday, June 13, at the age of 16 after falling into the Hudson River at Hudson Shores Park, according to Watervliet Police. New Rochelle Schools To Open Late To Test New Districtwide Procedures Students in New Rochelle will enjoy some unique “half-days” of school as district faculty and staff members conduct a dry run of certain procedures that were put in place for select situations. Schools will open late for students on Monday, Oct. 1, “as a test run of procedures that may be employed during inclement weather and other situations.” Dismissals will be at the standard times and lunch will be served in all schools.
