Hudson Valley Organization Named As NYS Historic Business: Dates Back Over 75 Years
A Hudson Valley organization that dates back more than three-quarters of a century has been named a New York State Historic Business. Green Chimneys, a nonprofit located in Putnam County at 400 Doansburg Rd. in Brewster that provides animal-assisted therapy to students, has been named the county's first New York State Historic Business following a nomination by Assemblyman Matt Slater. Tinsley, a 3-year-old, three-legged American White Eskimo who was thrown out of a car when she was a puppy has been rescued by a New Rochelle resident, and the dog now visits elderly members of the community suffering from dementia.
