Longtime Larchmont Resident Anne M. McDermott, 78, Will Be Missed By Family and Friends
Anne M. McDermott, 78, passed away February 15, 2023. Anne was born May 25, 1944 in Port Chester and was an alumna of Port Chester High School. She lived most of her life in Larchmont with short residencies in Harrison, Pelham, and Stamford, CT. She tried the “snowbird” life for a while before moving to Glendale, AZ for a few years. But she returned and settled in Dover Plains in 2019. She worked for Sears nearly 25 years; then for JAI Press for 15 years. Anne also volunteered with Corporate Outreach. Brand-New Cake Shop Opens In Westchester County
A bakery chain has opened its first Westchester County location. Nothing Bundt Cakes has opened its doors in Hartsdale and will host a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, Nov. 4. It is the first Nothing Bundt Cakes location in the county and the sixth in New York state. The cake shop, located at 303 North Central Ave. in Hartsdale, will be run by twin sisters Florentina and Andreea Enica, according to an announcement from the company. “As children, we would gather with family, and our grandmother welcomed us with freshly baked cake," Florentina said in a statement. Mary Webster Bendlin, known to her family and friends as “Scotty,” died on Nov. 11 at the age of 91 in Kissimmee, FL. She was a retired registered nurse employed in Orange County at Horton Memorial Hospital in Middletown for 35 years and was Head Nurse of the OB/GYN Department before retiring in 1985. Westchester native Nicholas M. Berardi, Jr., 88, of Jacksonville FL, lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease on Sept. 20. He was born on May 15, 1931 in Mount Vernon. He loved entertaining others, making people laugh with his stories and jokes. He was always sought after for his great advice.
