Covid-19: Hudson Valley Infection Rate Increases; New Breakdown By County The Hudson Valley continues to have one of the lowest positive infection rates in New York, though the number is back on the rise as new variants of the virus emerge. Over the weekend, the average seven-day positive infection rate of those tested in the Hudson Valley fluctuated, from 3.40 percent on Friday, Aug. 20, down to 3.36 percent the following day before spiking back up to 3.49 percent on Sunday, Aug. 22. Covid-19: Movie Theaters Cleared To Open Statewide, Except In NYC, Cluster Areas Movie theaters outside of New York City can reopen statewide next week, except COVID-19 cluster zones. Those theaters were cleared on Saturday, Oct. 17 to operate at 25 percent capacity under state guidance starting Friday, Oct. 23.  No more than 50 people will be allowed in front of each screen in each movie theater at once.  Theaters can only open outside of New York City in counties that have COVID-19 positivity rates of less than 2 percent on a 14-day average and do not have any cluster zones, Gov. Covid-19: 24 New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Westchester As State Total Hits 950 With testing for the novel strain of the coronavirus (COVID-19) ramping up throughout the state, New York has seen 221 newly confirmed cases the last 24 hours, bringing the statewide total to 950. As of Monday, March 16, there were 37 new cases in the Hudson Valley, including 24 in Westchester. (See breakdown in the first image above.)
