Rye Neck, Valhalla to Play for Class B Title

The seeds held true as No. 1 Rye Neck meets No. 2 Valhalla in the Section 1 Class B softball championship game tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Nanuet High School in Rockland County.

The winner advances to the regional semifinals and final, Tuesday, June 7, in Coram, Long Island.

Rye Neck comes in off of victories over Pleasantville and Albertus Magnus. The Panthers have outscored their opponents, 13-3. Rye Neck is looking to reverse its fortunes from last year’s title game when it lost to Dobbs Ferry.

Valhalla, the 2009 and ’10 Section 1 Class C champion, defeated North Salem and 2010 Section 1 Class B titlist and state-final-four participant Dobbs Ferry to reach the final.
