MIDDLEBURY, VT. -- Charlotte Gardiner scored two goals as Middlebury defeated visiting Colby, 5-1 in its home-opener Saturday. Gardiner, a junior and 2009 Mamaroneck graduate, gave Middlebury a 1-0 lead 14 minutes into the game. She added her second goal of the game in the second half. Scarsdale's Margaret Souther and Bronxville's Lucy Jackson each had an assist in the first half.
