The house at 59 Edgewood Ave. dates at least to 1901, according to a statement from Julie B. Fee Sotheby's International Realty, the agency that has listed the home.
Frazee, the owner who infamously traded George Herman "Babe" Ruth to the New York Yankees, bringing down on the Boston club the "curse of the Bambino," purchased the home in 1920, a short time after cashing in on the trade.
Frazee later sold the home to Daniel Kussel, a figure on Broadway who deeded the house to his mother and brother. The home remained in Kussel family for the next 47 years.
According to Sotheby's, the seven-bedroom home on a 1-acre lot is an "elegant and historic residence, which is ideally located just a short stroll from Larchmont’s downtown."
The 5,554-square-foot home features a glass-enclosed wrap-around porch, "uniquely" coffered and plastered ceilings, stone fireplaces, a third great room and an open floor plan.
According to Arlene Gibbs, the agent who listed the "meticulously restored" home, it is a short walk from downtown shopping, dining, the Murray Avenue School and the Larchmont Farmers Market.
