Two Killed After Garbage Truck, Car Collide Near Mamaroneck HS

Two people were killed Saturday morning in a crash involving a garbage truck and car on Route 1 near the entrance to Mamaroneck High School.

The truck was reportedly making a left-hand turn into the high school parking lot when a two-door blue Acura slammed into it.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene of the crash, which included entrapment, and occurred around 7:20 a.m.

West Boston Post Road remains closed in the area during what is expected to be a lengthy accident investigation.

The victims' identities have not yet been released.
