New Rochelle's Citizen Police Academy Hosts Open House

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The New Rochelle Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy hosted an open house for media on Oct. 28, at the NRPD headquarters.

Attendees were introduced to law enforcement and the criminal justice system and received insight into NRPD through hands-on experience and participation in different scenarios that officers could potentially encounter. Classes were led by police instructors including the Commissioner and division commanders. Among the topics discussed were traffic enforcement, motorcycles, radar, and DWI simulator.

Registration for the Citizen's Police Academy took place in late August, early September. The first class was on Sept. 16 and the students will graduate on Nov. 17 at the Davenport Club.
