LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Gregg Pierleoni, the former chief financial officer of a Larchmont-based moving company was sentenced to six years in prison on Wednesday, Oct. 15, for embezzling millions from his former employer, according to LoHud.com.
Pierleoni pleaded guilty to fraud and tax evasion charges in June in the theft of more than $5.7 million from Collins Brothers Moving Corp, LoHud.com reported.
Pierleoni admitted to using the money he stole from the company to purchase items like artwork, sports memorabilia and airline tickets. The court ordered he return $4.8 million to the company, pay $1.5 million to the IRS and another $1 million to the moving company's insurance company, LoHud.com said.
