Mamaroneck Ranks Among New York's Safest Places To Live

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck was recently ranked as the 14th-safest town in New York by home security vendor Safe Choice Security.

Safe Choice examined statistics that included violent and property crimes in order to rank the municipalities throughout the Empire State.

Briarcliff Manor, a town of 19,000, was praised for its extremely low crime rate, which includes 0.84 violent crimes per 1,000 population.

Property crimes were also extremely low, according to Safe Choice with only 7.88 crimes per 1,000.

Overall, Mamaroneck was rated safer than 83 percent of cities in America.

Briarcliff Manor was rated the safest place to live in New York and safer than 98 percent of U.S. cities.

Other Westchester towns included Pleasantville (No. 4), Rye Brook (No. 7), Bronxville (No. 8), Harrison (No. 10), Tarrytown (No. 11), Scarsdale (No. 12), Croton (No. 13), Sleepy Hollow (No. 16), Hastings (No. 17), Rye (No. 19), Peekskill (No. 22), Dobbs Ferry (No. 24), Eastchester (No. 25) Mount Kisco, (No. 27), Ossining, (No. 28).
