Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 raised the ladder of its engine more than 30 feet above Mamaroneck Avenue Monday in preparation for the Fourth of July celebration. Captain James Shroeder and volunteer Brandon Pepper worked together to display the flag. The fire department hangs the large American flag every year for the July 4 holiday and Memorial Day.
