“I was a library kid," said Moosmann in a press release. "I did the summer reading game every year, and I loitered there a lot as a teenager. It's always been a happy and safe place. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that? As for being a children's librarian, I love being around kids. They are always learning new things and asking questions which forces you to do the same. It keeps you from getting old, plus we tend to share the same sense of humor.”
Originally from the Rochester suburb of Webster, Moosmann received her Masters in Library Science from University at Albany, SUNY. She formerly worked at the New York Public Library's Bloomingdale Branch and as children's librarian for the Ossining Public Library.
“We are very excited to have hired someone with such innovative programming ideas and an extreme passion for children's literature”, said Rebecca Teglas, head of children’s services, in a press release. “Having Linnea here will help us take the children's room to a whole new level.”
