Larchmont Resident Brings Broadway to Town

LARCHMONT, N.Y. – The Rotary Club of Larchmont will team with Broadway actor John Treacy Egan to benefit the LUNGevity Foundation, a cause close to club president Christopher Cassese.

"LUNGevity is dedicated to educating the public about the surprisingly high level of lung cancer deaths each year and to funding lung cancer research," Cassese said. "Sadly, my mother-in-law died of the disease even though she never smoked in her entire life."

The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization strives to improve lung cancer survival rates, ensure a higher quality of life for lung cancer patients and provide a community for those impacted by lung cancer, according to its website.

To help LUNGevity achieve those goals, the Rotary Club of Larchmont will host "Broadway Comes to Larchmont" at the Orienta Beach Club April 29 at 5:30 p.m. Egan, a Larchmont resident, will perform songs from his various roles on Broadway, Off-Broadway and television.

Egan currently stars in "Sister Act" on Broadway. He has also appeared in the revival of "Bye Bye Birdie," Max Bialystok in "The Producers," Chef Louis in "The Little Mermaid" and "Jekyll & Hyde."
