MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A Larchmont artist is donating three pieces to support the New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund.

Donald "Drawbertson" Robinson created the one-of-a-kind work of art to be auctioned off at its Kick Off to Summer Benefit on Tuesday, May 13. "Drawbertson" created and donated three images of the American flag. One of the pieces will be on display and ready for bidding on May 13 at the Empire Hotel Rooftop in Manhattan, and the other two will be auctioned at future events, according to a press release.

"The darling of Instagram, Donald 'Drawbertson' Robinson, Larchmont resident, is now a hero to the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund," representatives said in the release. "His artwork is famous for flights of fantasy, whimsy and delightful imagery."

The New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund provides assistance to the families of New York City Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Port Authority Police and EMS Personnel who have been killed in the line of duty. Since its inception in 1985 by Daniel J. “Rusty” Staub, a former Major League Baseball player who spent our seasons with the New York Mets, the charity has distributed over $128 million to over 600 families, according to the release.

The Benefit Fund gives financial assistance to grieving families immediately after they lose their loved one and provides an ongoing network of support and special events for these families to cope and connect after such tragedy, according to the release.

"The goal is to raise enough funds to provide meaningful annual distributions to beneficiaries for the remainder of their lives," representatives said in the release.
