Westchester's Dar Williams Sings Praises Of New Film At Greenwich Film Fest

GREENWICH, Conn. - Mount Kisco born Singer/Songwriter Dar Williams, who grew up in Chappaqua and contributed music to the new documentary, "The Anthropologist," was among a handful of celebrities on the red carpet Thursday, June 9 as part of the Greenwich International Film Festival's (GIFF) opening night festivities.

The event, now in its second year, is going on now through Sunday, June 12 throughout downtown Greenwich.

The film, directed by Putnam County resident Jeremy Newberger of Garrison-based Ironbound Films, follows environmental anthropologist Susie Crate and her teenage daughter as they visit indigenous communities threatened by climate change. 

Commentary is also provided by Mary Catherine Bateson, daughter of famed anthropologist Margaret Mead. Go HERE for more details.
