Mogan Anthony, chef at Mount Kisco's Village Social was recently named a "2016 Innovative Chef" by Greenwich Wine + Food Festival.
The event, held September 23 to 24, is already open for ticket sales, with chefs hard at work thinking about what to prepare. Anthony, a Greenwich resident and a first time nominee, gave us a sneak peak.
Daily Voice: What kind of dish or dishes will you prepare at Greenwich Wine + Food?
Mogan Anthony: We're still brainstorming, but it will definitely showcase my creativity.
DV: Do you have a favorite ingredient and if so, what is it?
MA: Yes, I love grains, seeds and nuts since it can be forgotten or labeled as healthy ingredients. I love using them in creative ways.
DV: Where do you get your cooking inspiration?
MA: I always tell people that I truly cook for the moment, spontaneous.
Ideas can come from traveling, street food, even sometimes the family meal done by my cooks.
DV: What should folks who've never been to your restaurant know?
MA: We are an American gastropub -- our take on classic cuisine with a fresh twist.
