Sheldrake Center In Larchmont Adds New Classes

LARCHMONT N.Y.– The Sheldrake Environmental Center in Larchmont has opened up new nature classes for children and some allow those as young as two years old.

The classes that are available are Tiny Trekkers, which started Sept. 20 and runs to Nov. 29 for ages three-years-old and up. The class costs $180 for members and $200 for non-members.

Young Explorers, is for grades Pre-K-5 and is from either 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, through Nov.27. It is also held at the same times on Thursdays, through Nov.29. The cost of the class is $360 for members and $400 for non-members.

Sign-ups are still available and can be found on the Sheldrake Environmental Centers website.

Eco-crafting with Richela Morgan begins on Oct. 1 and goes to Nov. 5 every Monday, with the exception of Oct. 8. The class is for kindergarteners and the cost for the class is $90 for members and $100 for non-members.

Yoga in Nature will be held on Wednesdays from Oct. 3 to Oct. 24 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. by Kyle Greenberg who is a certified yoga instructor and has taught in the Larchmont/Mamaroneck community since 2004 according to the Sheldrake Environmental Center website.

In the class “children will learn some basic yoga postures in a relaxed way while enjoying the outdoors and appreciating the nature surround them,” according to the Sheldrake Environmental Centers website. The class is for children from Kindergarten to third graders and the class cost is $90 for members and $100 for non-members.
