MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- For the 48th year in a row, the Mamaroneck Turkey Trot allows residents to burn off calories before ever sitting down to their Thanksgiving feasts. The event, with something for both kids and adults, also offers a sense of community, fun, and in the end, hot turkey soup.
Hailed on its website as "the flattest course in Westchester " the 5K race will be held Sunday, Nov. 23 at Harbor Island Park. It is presented by the Village of Mamaroneck Recreation, NewRo Runners, Pace BMW, TD Bank, Turkish Meze and Care Connect.Races.
There will be a one-mile Gobbler Run for kids 12 and under beginning at 9:45 a.m. with the Turkey Trot set for 10:15 a.m.
Pre-registration for kids is $15; $20 on race day; $35 for the Turkey Trot; $40 on race day. Go here for information.
