St. Thomas Episcopal Church Offers Advent Quiet Day

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- For residents looking to get away from hectic schedules and participate in three hours of guided meditation, there is an opportunity to participate in Advent Quiet Day at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon. 

St. Thomas Episcopal Church is at 168 W. Boston Post Road (corner of Mount Pleasant Ave), Mamaroneck.

The guided meditations will be followed by periods of silence, during which participants may pray, meditate, read, do needlepoint or another activity enjoyed in silence. Activities will be held at any space in the building. Meditations will take place in the Chapel.

Participants are expected to arrive by 8:45 a.m. There will be coffee and water for tea, in addition to some simple food items that will remain available throughout the morning.

Here is a schedule for the day:

9 a.m. : First meditation  9:40 a.m.: Second meditation 10:20 a.m.: Third meditation 11 a.m.: Fourth meditation 11:40 a.m.: Holy Eucharist
