MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Eddie Geideman who grew up in New Rochelle and recently opened Push Fitness in Mamaroneck is all about finding motivation for his clients.
"No matter your fitness level, age, etc., we have the experience to 'push' your limits, help you grow, and achieve your goals, big or small," he said. "We're about more than fitness. This is a lifestyle. We believe a healthier, fitter you leads to a happier, more fulfilled, and motivated you."
He practices what he preaches. Every new member receives an e-book he wrote on motivation. Reading his profile on his website about the death of his father, dreams of opening a studio, and other life challenges, it's obvious he's put his heart and soul into this new endeavor.
In fact he believes fate actually led him to this location, at 154 E Boston Post Road. He had been involved in another project for a gym in New Rochelle that fell through at the last minute. Just when he had just about given up, a mentor found a "for sale" sign in Mamaroneck and he jumped on the opportunity.
The studio, which offers personal training, fitness classes and Zumba opened in early February and he's been practically giddy ever since, even if it did snow on the day he opened ... and snow and snow.
"Opening the studio intersects two dreams for me," he said. "I've always been hesitant to get a 9-5 job, wanting, dreaming, hoping to become a successful entrepreneur instead. Not only do I get to be an entrepreneur with this endeavor, but I get to do it in a field I am very passionate about."
Geideman said what separates him from other facilities is his openness. "I care about my clients and I share a lot of my life with them," he said. "I want this to be a small community."
That means if you miss a couple of days, he will email you to check in and encourage you to forge ahead towards your goals.
