New Canaan Man Charged With Possessing Child Porn, Police Say A 24-year-old Fairfield County man was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography. Quinten Yonkers, of New Canaan, was arrested at his home on Wednesday, Aug. 18, according to authorities. The New Canaan Police Department said investigators received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Data System on Monday, May 17, about internet activity within New Canaan deemed to be child pornography. Stamford Teen, Two Minors Caught Hiding After Stealing From Vehicles In New Canaan, Police Say Three teenagers attempted to hide from investigators in Fairfield County after being busted stealing from parked vehicles, police said. Officers from the New Canaan Police Department responded to the intersection of Richmond Hill Road and Weed Street at approximately 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, where there were reports of suspects rummaging through parked vehicles. Tornado Touched Down In Fairfield County After Two Others Confirmed In Westchester, Rockland A third tornado has been confirmed in the Lower Hudson Valley/Fairfield County area during Tuesday's severe storm. The latest twister the National Weather Service has documented after completing surveying on Wednesday touched down in New Canaan at 5:29 p.m. and went through Norwalk until 5:41 p.m. It has been rated as an EF1 Twister, with the EF standing for Enhanced Fugita scale.
