Beginning on Thursday, July 29, construction will begin on a $450 million project to develop 27 service areas on the Thruway, officials announced this week. Victim ID'd In Fatal Pedestrian, Truck/Car Collision Involving Carmel Man The Town of Poughkeepsie man who was killed after being struck by an empty dump truck and then a car on Lime Kiln Road late Thursday night has been identified. A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim, 44-year-old Rudolph Thompson of the Town of Poughkeepsie, was struck while in the southbound lane of Lime Kiln Road by a 2012 Peterbilt tractor hauling an empty dump trailer. The truck, which was traveling south, stopped immediately after the collision. After being hit by the tractor, Thompson was then struck a few moments later by a 2008 Ford Focus.
