George Pettit, Dentist In Ridgefield For Decades, Dies At 75 A longtime Ridgefield dentist who volunteered at a dental clinic in Honduras has died. Gordon G. Pettit, Jr. who practiced dentistry in Ridgefield for 32 years, died Thursday, May 23 at Danbury Hospital after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was 75. Dr. Pettit graduated from Northwestern University Dental School and joined his father in his dental practice in Ridgefield. He was born in New London on Aug. 5, 1943. As a teen, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Dr. Pettit was dedicated to volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and many years with Cape Cares where he worked with fello…
