$41M To Go Toward Expanding, Modernizing Hospital In Westchester
New York State officials have dedicated tens of millions of dollars toward expanding and transforming facilities and equipment at a Westchester County hospital. In an announcement on Monday, Sept. 30, Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard revealed a $41 million capital investment from New York State that will go towards Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital. Because internet literacy is essential to success in the 21st century, a new "digital learning lab" in Westchester County is aiming to teach these skills to children without regular access to technology. A new COVID-19 testing center is being set up at the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center, on 4th Street which will open up on Friday, April 17.
